The Republic of Ghana ~
Ghana was once known as the Gold Coast, for being the trade centre of
gold, ivory and slaves. It has strengthened itself economically and unlike
many of its neighbours, actually managed to improve since independence.
Tourism is the third biggest income generator, and the country
has become a popular destination due to its friendly people, rich
history, deserted beaches and fascinating tribes including the Ashanti.
It is relatively cheap and safe compared to other African countries.
Lively markets dot the country; and do not miss the numerous drum
and dancing festivities.
